How Old Am I?
About This Calculator
"How old am I?" sounds like a question with an obvious answer, but the precise figure — down to the day — takes a bit of calendar arithmetic. This tool does that arithmetic for you: enter your date of birth and it tells you exactly how old you are right now, in complete years, months, and days.
Most of the time we round our age to whole years, and that is fine for casual conversation. But there are moments when the exact answer matters or is simply fun to know: the days remaining until a milestone birthday, the point at which you cross a round number like 10,000 days alive, or the age in months a form is asking for. Seeing the full breakdown puts all of that at your fingertips.
The result is more than a single number. You get your age as years, months, and days, the total number of days you have been alive, and the day of the week you were born on. Because the calculation uses real month lengths and accounts for leap years, the answer stays correct even if your birthday falls on 29 February or at the end of a month.
To find your age, choose your date of birth and press Calculate age. The answer appears instantly, with no page reload, and everything runs privately in your browser — your date of birth is never sent anywhere. A future date is rejected with a clear message, since your age cannot be negative.
If you want to see the same result expressed purely as a day count, the age in days calculator focuses on the total, and the exact age calculator lays out every unit at once.
How It Works
- Enter your date of birth.
- Click “Calculate age”.
- Read your exact age in years, months, and days.
Formula & Methodology
The result is worked out as follows:
Age = complete years, then months, then days (from DOB to today)
Your age is the number of complete years from your date of birth to today, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days. Each step uses real calendar lengths and clamps at month ends, so leap days and month-end birthdays come out right. The total-days figure is the plain day count from your birth date to today.
