Working Days Calculator India

The working days calculator for India counts the business days between two dates using India's national holiday calendar. It takes the full span of days, removes Saturdays and Sundays, and then removes Indian national holidays that fall on a weekday.

This is useful for HR and payroll teams, businesses quoting delivery or service timelines, and anyone tracking notice periods, leave, or administrative deadlines in India. Because these are all measured in working days rather than calendar days, weekends and public holidays have to be taken out to get an accurate figure.

The result shows the total days in the range, the number of weekend days, the number of national holidays on weekdays, and the resulting working days. Both the start and end dates are included, and a reversed range is handled gracefully.

The holiday list covers India's three date-fixed national holidays — Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti — plus the main pan-India gazetted festivals whose dates move each year with the lunar and solar calendars: Holi, Ram Navami, the two Eids, Muharram, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Good Friday, Christmas, and more. Because bank holidays in India are set by the RBI and can also vary by state, treat this as a national baseline and confirm against your state's official list for anything critical.

Each day in the range, including both endpoints, is checked. Saturdays and Sundays are removed, then Indian national holidays that fall on a weekday are removed. A holiday already on a weekend is not counted twice, leaving the working-day total.
