Deadline Calculator

About This Calculator

The deadline calculator works out the exact date a deadline falls on and how long you have left to meet it. Choose a start date, enter the number of days, and pick whether to count calendar days or business days — the tool returns the deadline date, the weekday it lands on, and the days remaining from today.

Deadlines rarely announce themselves as a date. They are usually given as a period — "within 30 days", "14 days from receipt", "10 working days to respond" — and it is easy to miscount across month ends and weekends. This calculator does the counting for you and shows the answer as a concrete date, so you know precisely when something is due and can plan backwards from it.

The calendar days option counts every day, including weekends and holidays. The business days option skips Saturdays and Sundays, which matches how many response windows, notice periods, and service-level agreements are measured. Because the maths runs in a timezone-safe way, the same inputs always return the same deadline.

The result also tells you how many days remain from today until the deadline, and flags it clearly if the date has already passed rather than showing a confusing negative number. That makes the page useful both for setting a new deadline and for checking how long is left on one you already have.

To use it, the start date defaults to today — change it if your clock starts from a different date, set the number of days, choose the counting mode, and read the deadline. For business-day counts that also skip public holidays, the working days calculator is holiday-aware; to add days to a date without the deadline framing, the add days to date calculator does that, and to count down to a fixed date, use the days until date calculator.

How It Works

  1. Enter a start date (defaults to today).
  2. Enter the number of days and pick calendar or business days.
  3. Click “Find the deadline”.
  4. See the deadline date and how long is left.

Formula & Methodology

The result is worked out as follows:

Deadline = start + N days (calendar or business); days left = deadline − today

The deadline is the start date plus the number of days. In calendar mode every day counts; in business mode only weekdays count, so weekends are skipped. Days left is the whole-day gap from today to the deadline, shown as "ago" once the date has passed.
