Age in months is the standard way to describe babies and toddlers — clinics, growth charts, and developmental milestones are almost all set out by month, and many forms ask for a young child's age in months rather than years. It is also handy any time you want a finer-grained figure than years alone, such as tracking progress toward a milestone or comparing two ages that are close together.

The count uses month-clamped anchoring, the same convention as a full age calculation, so it behaves correctly at month ends and across leap years: a month is only counted once the same day-of-month has been reached, and where a month is shorter, the last day is used. The result also shows your age in weeks, days, and hours, and the weekday you were born on, so you can see the whole picture at once.
